Sheltered Workshop
The Sheltered Workshop is located in Chesterland, Ohio, and provides vocational training and paid employment opportunities to Geauga County adults with developmental disabilities. Individuals are employed by Metzenbaum Sheltered Industries, Inc., or MSI, Inc., which subcontracts services to local businesses and industries. These companies receive quality work at a competitive price, and individuals with developmental disabilities have opportunities to develop vocational and social skills, while earning a paycheck.
Jobs at MSI include packaging, heat sealing, bagging and boxing, assembly, mailing, presorting and production of hardware kits.
In addition to developing vocational skills which enable individuals with developmental disabilities to contribute to their financial stability, individuals in the sheltered workshop are also able to develop such important life skills as:
