Mapleleaf Comm Residences, Inc
Maple Leaf Community Residences, Inc. is a non-profit Ohio corporation created for the sole purpose of providing and maintaining small houses for individuals needing residential services in the community. It's Mission is "To provide quality, safe, affordable residential housing to persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities" in Geauga County, Ohio.
MLCRI owns 16 homes located in Chesterland, Novelty, Munson, Burton, Hambden, Chardon, Russell, Middlefield and Bainbridge. , serving close to 50 individuals. MLCRI is looking for another home that will better serve their residents needs and have placed the condominium in Burlington Oval up for sale. They are trying to find a ranch style home with four bedrooms with an in-law suite located between the west side of the county east to Chardon north of Rt. 422. The expectations of this home are to make sure it is accessible no matter who is living in the home and to make it accessible no matter who is visiting the residents who live in the home. (This is a relatively new term called vistability)
For Individuals receiving Supported Living and Home and Community Based Waiver Services (IO Waiver) the county board works closely with Maple Leaf Community Residence, Inc (MLCRI) to provide housing. MLCRI is the non-profit housing corporation in Geauga County, under contract with the GCBMRDD to purchase and manage properties for individuals receiving supported living or waiver services. Individuals residing in MLCRI properties sign a lease with MLCRI, rent is paid to MLCRI by each individual based on an individual’s income, but if the rent exceeds a third of total income, then the county board pays a rent subsidy. This is done to assure the management needs of MLCRI to assure a safe, healthy, and pleasant community home for the individual tenants are met.
Individuals with the help of their supported living or medicaid waiver providers, communicate with MLCRI on the maintenance needs of the properties in which they reside. More information is available on the MLCRI website. http://www.mlcr.org/.
