Behavior Support

Behavior support services are designed to help individuals acquire skills and promote opportunities so that they may enhance their personal relationships and improve the quality of their lives. Behavior support helps to modify the behaviors of the individual, the staff, and the caregivers to avoid or break down those barriers that limit growth and potential. The behavioral consultant helps to increase the knowledge and skills of caregivers so they feel empowered to provide behavior supports in everyday life. The board’s behavior consultant provides training in areas related to positive behavior support and crisis prevention and intervention.
To receive behavior support services or learn more about services, contact your Service and Support Administrator to guide you through the process. The first step in an individual receiving behavior support is to collect data around the problematic behavior(s).
